Effective 3 Aug 2025
By requesting or using an account on any system operated under the synql.xyz domain (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service provides modest CPU, memory, and disk resources intended for educational and personal experimentation. We may adjust quotas at any time to preserve system stability.
You must not:
We reserve the right to investigate abuse and will handle incidents on a case‑by‑case basis, including warning, suspension, or termination.
The Service is funded primarily by its founder. Voluntary donations are welcome; donors may receive small non‑essential perks (e.g., a thank‑you note or slightly larger quota) at our discretion.
Snapshot backups run daily and include user home directories. Backup copies are stored on‑site and off‑site within Texas for up to seven (7) days.
The Service is provided as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding uptime, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, synql.xyz and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
If a dispute arises, contact us first so we can seek an informal resolution. Because we are a small volunteer project, formal litigation is discouraged; however, any unresolved claim shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Notice of changes will appear in the system MOTD, on the website, and via Discord/Matrix at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect.
