This document explains what information we collect when you use synql.xyz (“the Service”), why we collect it, and how we handle it. We collect as little as possible, store it safely, and never sell it.
The public website and shell host set no analytics cookies and load no third-party tracking scripts.
Mail sent to user@users.synql.xyz
is delivered to a local mailbox. Messages are not automatically scanned, but we reserve the right to inspect headers or contents when investigating spam, malware, or policy violations.
Home directories and system data are snapshotted each night and copied to a secondary location in Texas. Backups are kept for seven (7) days before deletion.
When you request account closure, active data is removed within thirty (30) days; any remaining copies disappear on the normal seven-day backup cycle.
We never sell or rent personal data. We disclose information only when required by U.S./Texas law or when necessary to protect the Service and its users.
The Service runs in Texas, USA. By using it you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to hold an account. If younger, a parent or guardian must create and supervise the account.
We use FreeBSD Jails, ZFS snapshots, and regular updates to safeguard data. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
Future changes will be announced via MOTD on login, the website, Discord, and Matrix at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect. The revision date at the top of this page will update accordingly.
